The deadline is fast approaching for The Telly Awards honoring creative work for television and other video platforms — this year celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Telly Award entries in all categories are due this Friday, March 1. Dozens of categories are partitioned into different segments for Branded Content, Non-Broadcast, Series, Shows and Segments, Commercials and Marketing, and Social Video. Within each of those broad groups, individual categories honor achievements across a campaign, in a specific craft, or keyed to a specific industry or genre of content such as Biography, Instructional, or Cause Marketing.
Awards are judged by the Telly Awards Judging Council, which includes more than 200 working industry professionals.
After a full-on rebranding last year, the Tellys have expanded their footprint in the areas of branded content, social video and VR, and have also introduced a new suite of categories honoring live video. Further, the single company that collects the most wins this year will be honored as the inaugural Telly Award Company of the Year.
“Beyond these new categories, we have been touring the country with a screening program of Telly Award winning work and pieces alongside work from our judges to reflect the diversity of work we honor,” Tellys Managing Director Sabrina Dridje told StudioDaily. “Traveling across NYC, Chicago, Miami, London, Dallas, San Francisco and Vegas, the screening program includes Branded Content pieces by droga5 and Vice, short animation films and a short documentary by RYOT Films.”
Entries in the Telly Awards are open through March 1. Works produced in a two-year window between January 1, 2017 and the entry deadline are eligible. For more information on categories, fees, and eligibility, visit The Telly Awards website.
